Me and my classmates had a 24 hour hackethon at Thesedays.
I ... am ... so ... tired.
But it was worth it !!! ☺
For 24 hours I found myself at thesedays for the first hackethon of my life.
I wasn't 100% sure what to expect, but my hopes where up for some legendary stuff, and so it was.
After seeing the pile of snacks, the tech supplied and setting up a hackethon lifestream, me and my team started working on our plan to hack the hackethon.
How you ask? By creating a safe/dangerzone arround the pile of snacks and protecting it.
An xbox kinect would have to recognize people entering the zone, take and upload a picture of them and upload it to a website.
Warning messages would be projected before there feet and people who would come to close to the pile of snacks would be shot by a little cannon we were going to build.
Maybe we were a little to ambitious, because after 24 hours of coding, the only thing we got working was the cannon that shot pingpong balls when the kinect registered somebody entering the zone.
But hey, we had a lot of fun building and testing that, and together with the awesome space and food thesedays provided, this hackethon can be named succesful.
Thanks to everybody at thesedays for your knowledge and help, it was a pleasure to be there. Also thanks to the newspaper who gave us a visit and wrote this article.
